I was having a long overdue conversation with a mate from my past, early nineties, as we were mainly go-to-concert mates the speaks turned quickly to music and a band he introduced me too. Tesla, an American rock band who had just released their "Psychotic Supper" album and we were off to their London tour date, at the Astoria I was reminded. I loved it at the time and still reckon it's their best album to date.
There's a good anti war song on it, bass driven from the start (must be those early Stranglers concert going days influenicing my taste as they were a local band for me way back when) called Freedom Slaves
(this link includes the "Government Personnel" short ditty at the beginning, as it is on the album that nicely leads into the anti mood)
I'd lost touch as I didn't care much for their later album output (odd songs yes) so hadn't seen a new album released this year. A little ho hum but had a couple of decent songs on there. Another bass driven one,

Another blast from the past, Paladin. All sorts of influences can be heard here, a real reflection of the times (musically).

How the hell did I miss this one! David Sylvian and the rest of the Japan gang reunited on the album/project "Rain Tree Crow".
I only found out about it today and really like it...

Newish band on the block "Royal Blood" only full album (eponymous), is a rock injected and well crafted outing...

I am using my old iriver as a source but need some new headphones to make music worth listening to.

Not only the great band but also a great show in The Old Grey Whistle Test. With it's own iconic theme intro, if Top Of The Pops can have Whole Lotta Love then TOGWT certainly kicked (by Star Kicker himself ) back with Stone Fox Chase. What was the original them tune to "The Tube" ?
