Went to the 02 Academy in LEEDS last night to watch "All Time Low". (Well my daughter and her friend wanted to see them) But you can't miss the opportunity to watch some LIVE music can you? First on were a band called "We are the in crowd" - not bad. Then a group from Phoenix Arizona called "The Maine" with a very charismatic singer - again not bad. Finally "All Time Low" They were excellent and put on a really good show, although the lighting was a bit OTT. So did you dance with your daughter and friends? Well, one of the song should be "I Feel Like Dancing" as in video. If no hair, did you put a long hair wig to let your "hair down" to gyrate with the tune? Aw, now I sound like Linn and Naim with the last statement. Great to see you write you enjoy the live act very well and had a great night out. I wish my HI-FI sounded only half as good. Get your daughter and friends to form a band and you can chuck away your hifi. How you know, your riffs can be as good as Richie Backmore if you are the lead guitarist when you practice hard enough. Good night had by all, apart from the fact that the signposts in LEEDS are terrible and it took a good 30 minutes to find our way out of Leeds. Er, don't you have GPS for such a situation?

Nope, nothing to listen to as it's still CNY. So I bought the bluray Real Steel to showoff to those that came to my place. Btw, good family movie and I highly recommend to anyone into those family movies. Yup, Steven Speilberg is Executive Producer to get your adrenalin flowing.

Always loved Free. Hard to believe Andy Fraser the bass player is still only a teenager in this video He appears to be playing a fretted bass, yet it sounds fretless. Yup, one of my favourite band too. Still is. Let's relive the Free days ........... Btw, Andy Fraser was one of the supporters for Obama's Presidential campaign. Here: So is everyone Alright Now?

A rather 'theatrical' rock band from Sweden (?)
Nightwish - 'Imaginaerium'.
Sent to me for a listen and quite pleasant.
Someone may recognise the language - Taikatalvi (?)
It's kind of Abba with Grungy guitars and some ethnic instruments.

And why not the days before Free? Heh, heh, I love the free days (literally as in no stress) compare to now. Anyway, back on a serious chord, before Free is not as significant as after Free. After Andy left and taken over by a Jap bass guitarist, the band is not as free flowing as before. It was already in the doldrum and heading for doom sooner or later as all the songs were written by Paul Rodgers/Andy Fraser combo. Any why after Free is more significant? Because of this ............. Don't you agree Bad Company is of much more significance than before Free? Too bad (literally), they are winding down but not kaput yet.

Yup, Abba in Swedish pop/metal style. A synopsis of the album by most probably the leader of the band: He looks like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. His brother from that movie? Now the making of the album. Oops, now sound like a movie instead of music dvd / bluray. Btw, they did it in the UK and most probably some had seen them doing their sessions in the London studio. Now I know why you received the sample CD. Samples: Overall, quite an interesting band and never a dull moment for sure. Can listen to their music. Thanks Ian for sharing with us music nuts here.

A treat for crispyface . . . One of our favourite bands doing a blistering live set in Montreux. Love watching Lee Harris in full on "Animal" mode. Paul Webb (another greatly underrated fretless bass player) looks about 14 here BTW Chris, If you've never seen this gig, pm me Jeff

They are one of the very few of my favourite bands that I have never seen live and judging by those links I've really missed out there. Very, very good indeed

You make me laugh Cheung ;D My daughter is learning to play the guitar at the moment but finding it a bit too hard, which surprised me as she was really good playing the Cello when she was younger. You have to play the Cello by ear and of course there are no frets. She got up to grade two with a distinction then packed it in. Boys were more interesting. She thinks she can sing but is bloody awful - she thinks she is Hayley Williams (LOL.) I could also put my two pence worth in and play the Kazzo???

She got up to grade two with a distinction then packed it in. Aw, such a waste. Why is she with disctinction packing in? She had performed extremely well. Most people with distinction will go far as they are showing they are not under pressure at all to perform well and know the ropes to do well. She thinks she can sing but is bloody awful - she thinks she is Hayley Williams (LOL.) There, you see. She thinks big like Paramore. Distinction there. Btw, if she can't be the lead vocal, she still can be the lead guitarist like Richie Blackmore. It's the same. One makes the vocal chords sing and the other makes the guitar chords "sing". As we know, a guitar can really sing with talent under skillful hands.
