Shostakovich 8th from my WDR / Barshai boxed set of the 15 symphonies. We have house guests and I am stealing a little self-indulgent intelligent entertainment. Makes a change from TV ALL DAY with rolling news programs and sport. At least the Indian Commonwealth Games is over - was getting very fed up with that.

I'm currently listening this with K702, Neco Mosfet V2 (linear pot, gain 3) and Behringer FCA202.
The bass is very good as long as you drive the K702 with enough power. I made the mistake that I've used the K702 at too low volume levels in the past.
I don't think the K702's have not enough bass, but they are quite tricky to drive correctly.
The K702 doesn't have real deepbass though (like HD681 or HD250 Linear II), but for a fully open design there's not much to complain about.
I really like my K702's (again). This after a longer period of total disinterest regarding this 'phones. So far, I had the best results with the Neco Mosfet V2 and Neco Portable V2. I'm very, very curious how they will sound with the X-Can V2/V3 (Mike modded both for me).
This one sounds especially good on the K702's:
The really big soundstage of the K702 is perfect for this type of sound.

It's Saturday night again and back to muzak ......... dvd. Good sound and soundstage but a bit too prominent and forward sounding for this dvd mastered in the EU.  Overall, a very good concert in terms of performance and songs.  |
