I just bought "Be the One" from the album "We Started Nothing" through the iTunes store. It's not my usual style, but I like it anyway. I can't really explain why.

I just bought "Be the One" from the album "We Started Nothing" through the iTunes store. It's not my usual style, but I like it anyway. I can't really explain why. Same for me initially, being the older type of rock style type. That time, I was saying to myself who the hell is this new group Ting Tings? And we know the world is flooded with those me-too groups trying to make it. However, once I had the CD, I cannot stop playing it almost 2 years ago. I even attended their concert when they were here in Singapore. Heh, heh, heh ......... Yes, Be The One is also my favourite track from that CD. It's just infectious ........

Damn you Christian ( but thanks too! ) I've spent time since your post, racking my poor little brain for the first song that brought Moby to my attention. Could not remember the track name or lyrics, thankfully the radio saved me this afternoon by playing it .........Ohhhh lordy

I have found no YouTube video of the track "Galaxies Trips" from the same album. This track is IMO better than the "XTC" track.

Going through a bunch of vinyl which arrived in the mail today, amongst others the new Emeralds album, which sounds stunning so far. Emeralds is probably my favourite band at the moment btw and they seem to keep getting better.

More newer stuff to catch my attention from my music freak friends a couple of months back .............. No bad really on their debut album. May consider buying their LP. Some songs sound like older U2 stuffs.
;D

To add some balance I've been dipping into the archives (1974) again;
a tape snuffled from car and playing at work of BOC.
At the mo.....

After lots of ambient and jazzy stuff I thought I'd throw this in the mix. They range from nigh-on progressive rock to full out metal and despite being around for more than 5 years I've only recently discovered them break you in softly... ...bit harder... ...proggy... thinking metalwarp factor 5! maybe you have to be a drummer to like this one

Aha, metal, how about metal from the land of the rising sun that my metal friends like .......... Actually not bad when your old folks are not around. Definitely no isomnia to me after listening. Only now .......... Being instrumental, don't have to take the shit of a lousy metal singer like in Pantera although the music is nice .......... Hey, Chris, just curious. Why the drum kit has black round centres in all? What's the effect. I very stupid here ........

Some good stuffs if you are into this genre .......... My favourite ......... Oi, don't throw your tantrums at me. It's just for the music after all. Nothing to do with the World Cup or WW history ........ and something on So Peace, Peace, Peace Do your homework after this ...............

Yup, I have almost all her vinyls since the days when I was doing my national service in the bloody army like the Swiss army. She was made famous by her connection in the movie Flashdance and also to Leonard Cohen. Also, this track made her more famous ............ Unfortunately, ................... Branigan died at her home on Long Island, New York, on August 26, 2004. Her death was attributed to a previously undiagnosed brain aneurysm. It was reported in the media that she had been experiencing headaches for several weeks before her death but did not seek medical attention. Her ashes were scattered over Long Island Sound. Goodbye, my army days song companion ...........

Not to feel too gloomy after the Laura Braningan saga, after all this is early Sunday, I will like to groove to: Good Morning Sunday on a wet day in Singapore! Good morning Grotto as well ..........and now ............ I still idolise and love it deeply after so many years ................ and yeeba, ariba to bring down the house for a moment in an international cast fashion ................ Dedicated to those metal heads who introduced this to me ......... From the Land of The Football Stars, Argentina ................ Hmmm, sounds a bit like Deep Purple - Highway Star. This Argentinian really can sing metal unlike others just shouting or growling ....... Who reverse engineer who? I leave it to your imagination ......... more .......

Chong,
Rata Blanca were pretty decent, tu hablas Espanol?
As an aside, while in the Spanish language, the following is a Spanish band that have been around for yonks, more 70's rock than metal but they are good live. They play the summer ferias around these parts so I get to hear them live most years. (missed them last night though as we worked too late)
EDIT = changes for clarity!
