I won't deny the possibility of being nuts but as I said, I don't like the vocal style.
If I was going "Into The Fire" I'd rather go with these guys...
OR, a similar musical style to Sabaton but done better Yngwie Malmsteen, "Vengance"...

I agree Chris... the guitar is head-banging (foot-tapping?) and all, but those vocals really don't do it for me. That Yngwie Malmsteen is fun

Merton, I like it... into the fire by sabaton. i usually really hate this genre, but this song just does it right. Yes, me too. I usually HATE any metal. But this power-metal track is really great. I've bought the track from the iTunes stores and had a closer look at some other Sabaton tracks. They have some other tracks that I like too, but of course there are also tracks that are a big no-no for me. The Deep Purple tracks mentioned by Chris is also sounding good, but IMO it's at total different style than the Sabaton track. The Yngwie Malmsteen track sounds ugly to me, I don't like sound like this. While lurking around in the iTunes store, I have found a really great rock album. IMHO you all will like it: Sirenia / The 13th FloorEvery track is good and it's a very powerful sound with very sexy woman vocals and great guitars (I can't believe that I'm saying this: I'm usually totally anti-guitars like Ian). www.mortenveland.com/sirenia/I've bought the Sirenia album instantly. It's to great to miss it.

It seems Mertons post has achieved a jolt, good! Elysion, Yes, the Deep Purple is totally different, it just shared the same track name, it's much older too, early '70s! This goes to show how different tastes are and the way we personally perceive music types. For me I'd pop Sirenia in the same sub-catagory as Yngwie and I like both! When I looked at the Sabaton stuff I also listened to a lot of tracks linked from there by youtube. I found several artists I liked the sound of but had never heard before. So, nice one Merty babes, you woke some of us up

YES... thanks Merton... last evening was very great as I've found good sound that I wouldn't look at normally.
I think it's about taste, but not only. It's only about a year since I discovered headphones as new hobby and I have already heard more than one headphone/amp/source combo. I'm rediscovering my sound archive quite often just to hear that I like tracks that I didn't like before. Of course my taste is also developing...

The woman or her voice I like her voice, but she also looks not bad on the videos... OK, I like her and her voice... Sirenia haved changed their singers quite often (I've counted three on their wikipedia entry). I had not enough time to listen to their older albums, but I agree with you that the singer in your youtube-link is also great. I'm not sure if it's Monika Pedersen or Henriette Bordvik (the former singers of Sirenia). Looks like Sirenia has a new fan. I can't believe to hear me saying this as I'm mostly into electronic sound. But I think there are some similarities between Sirenia and some of the electronic sound I'm listening: Both are very powerful. The Evanescence song is also interesting (I like the song), but I like Sirenia more. I'll have a closer look at Evanescence later.

I must admit that the main reason I started this thread way back when is because I love discovering new music. I've found plenty of new music since joining in here at the RG, and some good stuff in this thread.
Latest find: Tool - Lateralus
This album took several listens, like the best often do, and then you get it. Good stuff.

Will,
I've been listening recently too, their track "Stinkfist" was the first that grabbed my attention, as you say, good stuff.
