I'm tempted to send you my X-Meridian for a listen Robert. Pretty much the predecessor of the card mentioned. Course you'd have to have a pc lying around, but still

thank you spirit but I'm currently using an "el cheapo" DAC with optical from the computer and coax from the transport into the SCHA I think both the sound card and the DAC use the BB PCM1792 Alex and I are working through these 'El Cheapo" DAC to try and squeeze a bit more out of them. here's the current setup Robert

which the dell 2407's pretty damn good use spyder to calibrate the Behringer MS40's damn good for 'pc" speakers as far as the screens next time I would likely go the dell 30 incher instead as for computer sound maybe truth 3030 maybe not the "best" but great bang for buck

I love the speaker's platform, should have enough mass to handle any vibration issues. Exactly they might actually look like common concrete blocks but are indeed purpose designed to mechanically isolate the speakers from the desk, raise the speakers to ear height they are near field monitors right, as well as minimize reflections that you normally get from having speakers placed on the desktop from the desk surface I sell the kit which includes mass vibration dampers (concrete blocks) and special sonic decoupling mats by 4, one between the block and the desk and one between the block and the speaker cabinet, it's made from specially designed aerospace polymer (*) called moon walk, some from of synthetic carpet underlay *(well with a name like moon walk?...) cost about $2 each in small quantities, but works exceedingly well, practical but not going to get me any interior fashion designer award's yep that's me mr practical Robert Spirit the MS40's also sport optical and coax upto 192Khz

I have a mate with MS40's Borrowing some fostex atm.. driven from a digi 002 rack fed by my x-meridian. X-Meridian -> Novo -> HD600 was noticeably more detailed, but I'm not too surprised. The fostex run about $600. Rack apparently a fair bit more but meh
