At firs sorry my English is not very good but I try to explain my self. I had bought a couple of month ago x-can v3 model, akg 601 headphones and I have marantz sa 15 s1 cd-player. Sound is pretty good with original tubes, but still there are something missing. I think that I´d like to get little bit warmer sound. Can anybody recommended some tubes for this kind of combination and if you can, where I can bay those. I have this web address ( thetubestore.com/ ) but I think there are many shops where to bay those. Then the next question. This is my first contact with tube amps so I don´t know anything about tubes and types. I think E88CC is what is suitable for this amp. -Juho

Ok, and thanks. Maybe I should try those tubes. Price seems to be very reasonable.
My cd-player is very good, but not perfect. I think that it´s little bit could. For example horns sounds is better with my Nad s 500 player. In that player has been modified new circuits Opa627. With LME 49710 sound is very similar as Marantz.
But as always, in that price you couldn´t get every ting. That´s why I try to balance with new tubes.
Maybe some day I will try those pinks modifications for x-can. But It seems that it´s easy to get "scooter running out of your hands ".
ps. My wife found sound of good headphones and now she wants her own. She like little bit different sound as me, not so warm so maybe we have to bild two different systems. Maybe we have to bay akg 701 or 702 headphones for her and an other amp.

There is great synergy between the Graham Slee Solo or the Graham Slee Novo with the AKG K701 headphones. Both Of Grahams amps are well respected here.
Owning both I can say the Solo offers a very slightly more detailed sound than the Novo but the Novo is a close runner up in the detail stakes.
The AKG 701s offer up bags of detail with either.
