Hi guys
Just got my X-canV2. Just placed a mod order with Mike... but one thing.
This used X-can (from 2003) comes with the stock Jan Philip tubes I guess. The x-can v3 lacked bass somewhat... I am using the stock wallwart for time being.
But I am considering a tube upgrade...
Jan Sylvania 6922 OR Tesla E88CC / 6922 Gold Pin
Which has the best 'bass' in the V2? Or is it not much improvement at all from the stock Jan Phillips? I heard that Tesla goldpin was branded as Siemens for some years...
Anyone got any opinion? If not much difference, i can just as well get the Jan Philips again, as they are cheaper, but doesnt both Sylvania and Tesla have better bass?
I want the least laid back tube... if tesla is laid back, I do the Sylvania?
Please answer if you got the answer...
thanks !!!!
Lets see how fun this V2 is vs V3...

Kris By far the best, and most reasonably priced, I have tried are the Russian 6N23P... they beat the 6922 hands down and I'm not the only person who thinks they rock.... every SINGLE e-mail I get from people who have tried them is positive, here is the latest: "Hi Happy new year Mike! Thank you for those valves, they really are excellent and best so far I've heard. Sound is absolutely stunning. And have had no crackling in left channel anymore after tightening those pins. How many of those valves you still have? I might want to order another pair in few months, just in case these ones do wear out or get broken. - Jari Jokinen /Finland"

But, somebody here must have tried Jan Sylvania or Tesla Gold pin, atleast one of them... Is the Tesla goldpin known to be very 'laid back' compared to jan sylvania? I can buy a coulpe of them from ebay!
Are the JAN Sylvania sounding just like the Jan Phillips except better high and bottom-end?? Better bass???
Please guys, anyone ?!!
