Hi everybody,
I own 2 pairs of Grados: GS1000 and SR80. I'm getting the X-CAN v8 to use with the GS1000 (based on recommendations, I've never heard it).
My question to those of you who have tried this rig: is the Little Pinkie an improvement for the GS1K too? Any chance of the Grados sounding worse with the Little Pinkie?
From what I read in these forums not many of you are "fans" of Grado so I hope there are people who can give me a good answer ;D
Cheers!

I know what you mean. I find that the mids on my SR80 sound better than on the GS1K. I don't find the there is too much bass or highs. However, I've only ever heard them straight from my Cowon D2 or my computer, never using an amp (Don't laugh!). So I'm hoping the x-can will bring out the mids a little.
BTW, how much were the GS1K you heard burned-in? Mine sounded awful at first and it took them A LOT of hours (>200) of burning in to start sounding good.

If you want to hear Grado 1K at its best, I am afraid you will need much better headphone amp than these that you mentioned. Although they are not bad at all, especially when modded, they still cannot provide that kind of performance for which Grado 1K are built. Look at Yamamoto, EAR and this kind of stuff ...
