What DAC after Beresford?

Hi. I really like my beresford dac but feel it may soon be time to pick up a new DAC. Money is tight. What should I be looking at?

I suppose you could have a bash at modding it, I think Stan also offers a upgrade for it too, peoples reported decent results from what I've read.
I have not heard the latest model or any model with the mods so can't comment myself how good it sounds
