good addition. I have used the MP3 Anywhere with Boom software since its inception having been a user of the X-10 companies other products to control/automate my home. The initial Home Director software that came bundled with my first "real" computer,an IBM,was so impressive I signed up for the mailing list which led to me buying almost every new offering of the company (at a mailing list discount,Team El Cheapo ) The combination of the above,a TV card for the computer,a TV with PIP (Picture In Picture) and the X-10 Mouse Remote software alloweed for the first time me to sit my lazy ass on the sofa and control my computer music, surf the net, watch TV AND tyalk to the family all at the same time with the last avoiding home conflict for spending too much time online. Being married and staring at a computer screen two feet away with headphones on is a not a great path to a happy marriage or interaction with your kids (hey susan, who is that kid that just walked by ?He one of ours ? ) so the combination off all the above saved my ass from family conflict many times.Maybe the Home Director should be re-labeled "Home Life Savor" even though it does make for a damn lot of remote controls on the coffee table

I got an X10 remote with my Aldi pc, too - quite nice, but somewhat limited in range for an rf solution. Ati's Remote Wonder thingies are X10 remotes too, btw. A good and widely supported ir solution is the Streamzap - more info there: www.streamzap.com/Greetings from Munich! Manfred / lini

Does it do the hoovering, the washing up and the shopping too? If it can shave and wash me whilst I'm sleeping and make my breakfast (and, preferably, eat it for me) I'm interested.

I've only got access to Lidl here....... do they do one too? Well, yes, at least over here they do. But while the Aldi pcs are made by Medion, the Lidl pcs come from Targa. Personally, I favour the Aldis - mainly for design reasons... Greetings from Munich! Manfred / lini

got the wifey for those deeds does damn near everything else though and is the lazy man's best freind or better, takes care of the stuff easily forgotten so for instance back in my Amatuer Herpetologist days I used the computer to control all things climate related-light cycles,cooling/heating periods, time of year variations.... Turns on lights, heaters, controls the security system and even serves up a damn fine cup of java in the morning (controls the pot )
