...but and get it through optical.
I have a Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 soundcard, and everything I have seen on it says that it has 24/96 through SPDIF.
# C-Media CMI8770 PCI chipset (8CH audio single chip with DTS Connect and Dolby Digital Live Real-Time Content Encoder) # 8CH codec embedded PCI audio single chip # Full-duplex 8CH 24bit/96kHz DAC / 2CH 16bit/48kHz ADC # Integrated S/PDIF input/output supports 44.1kHz/48kHz/96kHz sample rate and 16/24bits resolutio
I don't have access to anything else that will do 24/96 to see if it is my soundcard thats screwed up, or my DAC ( Ori 4.1 ). My soundcard is beyond the warranty, so not much can be done about that. But my DAC should still be under warranty, so if that is the problem I would want to get it fixed. Is there anyway of testing to see where the problem lies?
I can play 16/44 and 16/48 through coaxial, but when I try to play 24/96 through it, all's I get is snap, crackle and pop. The coaxial cable is from Blue-Jean and purchased new when I ordered the DAC.
Thanks

Unfortunelty I don't have anything else capable of outputting 24/96 or greater. I can get 24/96 playback through the optical, but not with the co-axial. The co-axial will only playback 16/44.

Thanks guys.
I'll go play general consumer with my dac,/solo/cans and ic's tucked under my arm and hunt down a DVD/A or something that plays at least 24/96 to see if I can determine if it's my soundcard or DAC.

Not sure how to phrase this, so bare with me.
Not being sure it was a problem with my soundcard or dac, I was reluctant to contact Ori, but I did and he said he'd try to find an answer. Long story short, he went above and beyond and found what may be an issue with the coaxial out transformer in this case. He's shipping a new transformer. Thank you Ori

Agree Miquel, Ori, to me went beyond . Even before I had a chance to go out and find if problems was dac or soundcard, he sent me a new transformer. Unfortunalty, I received it yesterday afternoon and woke up this mornin to a dead pc. My main pc that is the only thing I have to hook the OMZ 4.1 too. I didn't even have time to go out and get a soldering iron, stand, sponge and multimeter!
So now I have to wait until what will probably be the first of the year, to replace my motherboard and cpu. Ugghhhhhhhhhhh !

Partially back up, kinda. Now I'm dealing with XP sp3 . Man, I'm getting sick and tired of this PC shtuufffffffffff. I installed winamp fri, listened a few hours between then nd sat. , Looking forward to a fun time, having my music back, and time to do it........ and freeking winamp screws up the whole night, ok, good majority of it.
Is that just winamp and sp3?
It worked fine for figuratively half a day.

I'lll give that one a shot and see if kstream plays nicely with SP3.
