Received this interesting e-mail from Ingolf Gendrong-Tiemann and thought I'd share it with you guys...... haven't had the opportunity to try this yet but it sure sounds as if it's worth a go.......
"Hello Rock Grotto-Team, thank you for your helpful webside. I have just made the following surprise: When you change in the Power Supply T1: ZTX 653 in ZTX 853 and T2 : ZTX 753 in ZTX 953 the X-Can V2 is in a higher dynamic dimension, especially in connection with the bigger transformer. The difference is so amazing that I must write this mail to you. The ZTX853/953 have a newer chip technology inside and more Power. The ZTX's are made from ZETEX INC U.K. They were not easy to get for me in Germany. I have ordered them from Digi-Key Corporation USA(www.digikey.com). They costs both only 2EUR but the shipment is 18EUR !!! have a nice day, Ingolf Gendrong-Tiemann"

Hi,
Are these transistors used in X-CAN V2 PSU or are they part of external, Pinky power supply ?

Their in the X-Cans itself. I've found the '853 in a few places, but the 953 seems to be a much rarer beast. Farnells and Digikey have the 953's, but at double the cost of the 853 from Rapid

Miguel,
You only need 1 x ZTX853 & 1 x ZTX953, as they are only used on the upper, PSU board. The standard stock type will do the job, no need to incur extra charges for the non-stock items.
I'll happily paypal you the cost of one of each as well plus the relevant S&H.

Miguel, since you had to order 5 sets of the Zetex transistors, do you still have a pair left?
I would be interested in a pair, it's a fun upgrade!
