I bought an old Marantz 50se as it has a good transport and TDA1541 dac to mod. The bits I could do with some advice are the output stage and checking the clock divide by 2 setup. Output stage: Option 1 use the TNT design as this is fairly simple and works Not sure what to go for with the 10UF output caps. The thing would be powered some a separate PSU to JLH, probably skipping half dozen PSU parts. Option 2. IV resistors to Jaycar( bought a spare ) board to out. This might need some extra filtration? The DAC chips functions best if the halved clock signal doesn't come from the SAXXXXXXXX chip. Using a 74HC393, I think that the divide by 2 output is pin 3. Does the IC need or want extra components like a diode on the frequency out?
