I just bought one of these portable compact disk players secondhand to use as part of my office set up rather than using the line out from my PC.
I am listening to the hd 580s via my Samwha'd V1 and I am very pleasantly surprised by the sound in comparison not only to the PC but also the ipod!
The lineout level from the iRiver is lower than the other 2 which means that to get the same volume, the X-can volume control is turned to around 2-3 o'clock rather than the 8-9 o'clock for the other sources.
Does the X-can have a sweet spot that is contributing to the improvement in sound?
