er6i: they literaly have NO bass regardless of how far i jam them in my head. bass beats in electronica are turned into slapping sounds somehow. another ex: listening to hyperballad by bjork with them is pointless as you're missing half the damned song. highs are real clear. mids aren't really mids. they're quite cold. i have no idea why anyone recomends these horrible things. soundstage? not really sure there can be one with just the high notes of a song.
atrio: the be IEM i've heard. still no match for the dt770. if i had to have an IEM these are what i'd go for. sound stage can be nice, but never anywhere near as good as the dt770. have this congested quality to them. no real space tween the instruments. nice warm tonal quality.
dt770: best headphones i've ever heard (better than i recall the ms2 and ultrason dj1's being). bass can be a bit much on some tracks, just right on others. for classical, electronic, ambeint, most rock... in other words, just about anything, they work very well for. there are just some tracks that come off toooooooo bassy with these. not a warm sounding can. it's almost as though they have etymotic high with the most extended bass i've ever heard anwhere. can feel it on my head sometimes even with them turned down low. extremely detailed. great for noticing textures. most detailed things i've ever heard (ety's lose out because they are lacking low end detail. these have the high's mid's and low's detail). mids are a little recessed. not too bad. just kinda changes the effect of the soundstage is all. there is no mid bass hump with these. they do not sound warm. they sound analytical and exciting all at the same time. it sounds silly, but these have a deep and cold bass. they may be the pinnacle of dynamic clarity. i wouldn't be surprised if they were. from the charts and listens i've done i think the akg k701 would be my perfect tonal balance. although, i think i may actually prefer the bass on these. i'll just have to wait and see someday.
