Hi guys. I've just bought some Denon AH-D2000 headphones which have an impedance of 25 ohms.
This strikes me as quite low, and although they work fine with my Millett Hybrid Max, I thought I'd check with you guys wether this would hurt the xcans or not!
Any views?
Thanks Chris

Thanks Chris It certainly won't hurt the X-CANS (v1 right?) question is will they sound good? Plug them in and have a listen....

I run a stock MF X-CAN v2 with Denon AH-D2000's and the system sounds great to my ears. In terms of power, I can barely turn the volume pot up past 9:00 o'clock. Try the Denon's out with your v2 and let us know what you think. Good luck!

I use my Grados (32 ohms) w/ no problems out of an X-Can V2 and V3. Go for it! Hey Miguel, How well do your RS1s synergise with your V2? I ask as I'm considering going Grado "woodied" as it were. I already use & love "MS1000" and MS2i with my V2. I'm thinking MS Pro or RS1 - or even GS1000 (I know you don't like those), and keep the V2 for a while. Thanks.

Thank you for your kind offer Miguel, much obliged to you.
If the Alessandros really float my boat I will be selling my HD650s - which will be the second pair I have sold in 3 years!
Those Senns are amazing headphones technically, but just not for me emotionally I guess.

Upmarket pizza box in the house I can confirm the MS Pros come with the long extender lead and the minijack converter lead included as standard like the current RS-1. They only have 2 hours on so far; some dub reggae and currently approaching the end of Portishead's "Third", which is a hard one to play all the way through. This will be a first for that. To be honest, after the Predator burn-in nonsense (now sold) I'm not expecting any night and day changes from the Alessandros. I don't remember my SR80s, MS1s or MS2s changing much, if at all, apart from ear/pad interface "tailoring" effects. The combo pictured (+ iTunes/Lossless/asio.de/USB) sounds wonderful. I've tried the standard (brand new) bowl pads and the flats pictured, but prefer a worn old pair of bowls I have which sound just so. I will try the extender piece/GS1000 pad mod later. To hand I have MS1, MS2, HD650 and old style DT990/250 ohm. The MS Pros walk it. The V2 has no problem quality-wise driving the MS Pros, and to be honest could really do with lower gain. I can hear some hiss when parked (I wrote about that in the valve (tube)-rolling sticky above). Asio has set XP's mixer at maximum, I've got the volume at approx 55% in iTunes and a comfortable level on the V2 with a modern recording like Third is even lower than in the picture - about 8 o'clock is loud enough. 9 o'clock sounds bloody amazing, but any more than 10 minutes is more than my ration these days lol!
