just got my atrios... found that they are a little picky about how they're inserted when i noticed that i couldn't get sound out of one side. it was just the way the tip was arranged in my ears. now, i did JUST recieve them so they do seem a tad muddy... BUT! it does seem that with these bright music is bright and dark music is dark... there's actually some god damn bass coming out of these things. methinks the only reason people like those damn ety's is ignorance and deafness. these things play the music fully and without hurting my damn ears! futher judgements to be announced. and how do you wear these damn things? anyone got pics? i'm wearing them like Ultimate ears phones... i don't like that the cord passes behind me then infront of me to my amp. oh, and whoever told you you can't feel the low notes with IEM's was full of shit. i've just got done feeling low notes in my neck vertabrae and some of the regions just to the north of them. and are there any other tips i should try with them?

my god! listen to hyper ballad by bjork with these things! i was missing half the damn music with those etys! SERIOUSLY!
now... they've come to sound a bit more collected... the bass is there... and deep! DEEP! AND THERE! and the rest is there. it doesn't sound dark... or veiled.... it sounds as though there bass.... and then there's all the other stuff too... seperate from the bass and without that satanic bite of the etys... i'm serious... these things are gonna be great when they burn in.... the bass may be a bit heavy now though.... although it's not as though i have anything neutral with which to compare the tonal leaning... it sure as hell is a lot more pleasant than the ety's... feels like i'm listening to music instead of a dentist's drill with music being extracted from it.
i should also note that i am hearing details and timbre that wasn't there before.

is their cord thick?
the bass on these is getting pretty tight. it's neat. i've got more details and more bass.... it's really nice.

i've tried going back to the etys... all i get are cymbals a top end sounds. the bass is just absolutely missing.
the below is in regards to using shure soft flex tips with the atrio...
well, what i did was cut the pipes out of the small FS foamies. i put the pipes on the posts and then the flex plugs on them. i tried the pipes at half lenght and at full length. both methods greatly lessened the bass and i don't think they're blocking any extra noise... so, the FS tips do seem best to me.

i've been going back and forth between the ety's and the atrios... literally half the song is missing in the ety's, no joke or exaggeration. the ety's sound distant and tinny while the atrios sound full, intimate, rich.... and at the same time have a bigger sound stage... it's really wild.
and i should note that these phones will tear recordings all to shit. i just got done trying to listen to freebird by lynard skinard and just couldn't because of how tin-y and dead it sounded. there was no soundstage whatsoever. bjork... pink floyd... they sound good. i should note that REALLY deep bass is needed with bjork.

Are you sure they're not just really difficult to get a seal with?
I have some Amadana PE117s that are the mutts if you manage to get a decent seal. Full warm sound with plenty of detail too but more often than not I don't manage to get a decent seal and then it's all top end and cold as a snomans codpeice.
TBH the only time I use them now is if I forget to take my PX-100s to work.
