I listen mostly using my HD580's/Green Solo but occasionally want some background sound out of my B&W's but can never be arsed to swop the cables over. Can anyone recommend a switch box (excuse the technical term...) Thanks, oldfogie

Have you ever thought of buying a DAC so that you can have the existing Analogue ouputs from your CD player going to the Solo and the outputs from the DAC going to your speaker amplifier? Depending on the quality of the DAC you could alternatively run it's outputs into the Solo and the CD outputs into the speaker amplifier.
I use a Cambridge Audio Dacmagic for this purpose - very cheap secondhand on eBay and excelllent quality.

Thanks for the reply theadmans but I had to look up what a DAC is. Having found out what it is, I don't understand what advantages it might give me.... My current system is a NAD C352 amp, C422 Tuner, C542 cd player, Green Solo headphone amp & Senn HD580's, Thanks, oldfogie

oldfogie, the easiest/cheapest/simplest would be to connect your C542 to the back of your C532 using the RCA's labeled CD. Then use a second set of cables to go from the PRE OUT 1 on the back of the C532 to feed your Green Solo. Here is a picture of the back of the C532 for reference. nadelectronics.com/image.php?x=84

Alternatively, connect the Solo to one of the pairs of Tape Out sockets, this should have the effect of bypassing the tone controls and preamp stage. (Still connect the CD player to the CD in on the NAD) - either of these options will also allow you to use the Tuner with the Solo in addition.

Ah. Cheers fanboi, my amp is integrated with the DAC and was wondering how to defeat the preamp!

This approach will give high quality CD sound on both the Solo and speakers. However, if you want to listen to your Tuner on Headphones then my approach does not cater for this.
