Many thanks to Miguel who kindly sent me a leather headband for the Grado series of headphones. It took about 30 seconds to whip the stock headband off my Grado SR-225 'phones and fit the new leather (nice padded job) in place. What a difference on the head! A LOT more comfy with the padded leather headband I tried all my pads (bowls, flats, HD414 etc.) and settled on the Senn HD414 pads. The combo of leather headband and 414 pads is SO comfy you hardly know the SR-225 are on your head Many thanks Miguel, I will have a good listen to these and see if the leather / 414 combo has also made a difference to the SQ.

Glad you got them and that you are enjoying them. I find the stock plastic band to be quite uncomfortable. I have read that a lot of users enjoy the HD414 pads on Grados, some even dye the yellow pads so they look less out of place. Look forward to pictures.

Just before I order from ebay [1] I assume these will fit the Grado 325i?
[1] tenner in the UK, and 4 quid from the states! Mmmmm do I gratify myself sooner, or wait for States delivery?

While at the office I can not see the pictures! Now at home I do see them. Good job. Sol, save time and get it from "your neck of the woods"

you definately need to trade those senn pads for the ttvj flats. the sens will suck the life out of the grados. my ms2's sounded dead with the sens (back when i had ms2's).
also, good choice in headband. but, mrarryo... where did you get it?

There was a kid (anyone less than 30 years old is a kid to me) in Head-Fi making them in batches of 5 or so. He also published a guideline on how people could make their own. However he is no longer making them because (according to him) he received a notification to stop or they would change his classification to a Member of the Trade. If true, WTF? he is making 5 or so every couple of months. Well that is the way it was.
