I'm currently listening to my partners Adam and the Ants compilation CD and I'm really liking what I hear. But don't tell her that. ;D The production quality on this stuff is impressive. Way better than I remember it or maybe my stereo was just mediocre back then or maybe it was because I never owned an Adam and the Ants albums. OK some of it is still crap despite the quality but a lot of it I'm really enjoying.

I think tbh it's aged better than I thought it would and the heavy drumming on a lot of the tracks sounds fantastic through the Solo. Back in those days I just thought the bloke was a big girls blouse. Now I just think he was good at marketing himself to the lasses. The quality of prince charming blew me away. I really only borrowed the album to have a laugh but feck me it just sounds so good. Go download a bit and see what I mean. Notable tracks are: Friends (Almost punk and quite amusing) Prince Charming. (When the Guitars come in I was gobsmacked by the quallity of this!) I searched for ages for a you tube vid with enough SQ to do this justice and none were close but this was the best www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJp7Vuhh1rA&feature=related It does have the added advantage that you don't need to watch the video Deutscher Girls Young Parisians (Some of the best cymbals I've ever heard) Ian PS Still LMAO

Is Gary clenching his fist or holding something in the palm of his hand?

My girlfriend back in the very early 80's said to me "you look like Adam Ant" and she put twisted pipe cleaners in my hair (I'm being serious here!) I told her "Adam the ant looks like ME you mean but he's a damned midget" One of the biggest insults in my life that was "you look like adam ant" hmph! BTW - I didn't live in a dungeon, the kitchen was being redecorated and, no, they are not leather trousers, they are PVC Jesus Christ what was I thinking, what a plonker! Good days (or nights I should say!) back in the day in London tho

My girlfriend back in the very early 80's said to me "you look like Adam Ant" and she put twisted pipe cleaners in my hair I can't believe you let her. Did it look good? I had a wedge back then. My parents still have a piture in their lounge with me looking like a new romantic plonker. Mind you this was and still is a fantastic track. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrvWqnlzJ4k

New Romantics - spit! Man, Hawkwind were too safe and middle of the road for me in the early '80s. Bring on Here and Now, Gong, Nik Turner's Inner City Unit for the tail end of the 70's counter culture, like now man... But yeah - those Adam and the Ant tracks have KILLER percussion.
