Hi Astra, Welcome to the forum, your posts are most informative. I would tend to go for a 12 - 0 - 12v transformer myself. The wires going into the latching socket can rip out if you pull the wires themselves..... always pull the body of the latching socket and not by the wires. Good job you've done there man Mike.

Thanks!!! I have in stock this transformer www.tunze.com/fileadmin/images/product_database/7210.202.jpg It is calculated on a greater loading, and under small loading gives out 14V. It is possible to use it? I have established this transformer - works too perfectly and is not heated. But I am afraid for long work on 14 V. The PSU they ship out with - works well - but it is strongly heated. Also is available a "audiophile power unit" 80VA from an old player, but it gives out 17V))) though too appears 12V

Anything is possible but the amp is specced for a 0-12 0-12V supply (24VCT) so I would recommend that and not 0-15 0-15V Yes, it's pretty crap and quite why they couldn't ship the amp with a 1000mA wallwart god only knows. Why not just buy yourself a low profile encapsulated transformer, 0-12 0-12V 30VA ? One of these types: If you are 230V hook it up like this: If you are 115V then hook it up like this: Connect the secondaries to 3 pin DIN thus:

Has lead measurements On all transformers it is written 24 1- the standard transformer (in the complete set) MF 500mA(13VA) 28,8 V Without loading 26,4V Under loading 2- toroidal transformer 20VA 29,8 Without loading 28,7 Under loading 3- transformer Creek21Se 12VA 25,8 Without loading 24,6 Under loading Conclusion - use of too powerful transformer dangerously. As the transformer 12 is too strongly heated, and 20 is not heated at all - is necessary 15 . Conduct further there is a stabilizer - the superfluous pressure will be cut off. But I while shall leave MF .

The Little Pinkie transformers measure a perfect 24V under load and they are 30VA. This was specified when the transformers were being designed by Phil Pickering. It's sometimes pot luck with off the shelf transformers and their voltages can vary from batch to batch.... that's why I don't use them. On some stock MF wallwarts I have read anything from 26V to 31V they are not at all consistent from batch to batch.

Astra, the Electro Harmonix tubes? They are brand new production, yes?
Are they a better buy than NOS tubes, for instance the Tesla 6922 tubes??
Has anyone tried Electro Harmonix vs Tesla for the X-can V3?
Also a question, which other 'tube' brand also makes brand new tubes, other than Electro Harmonix, of the quality of Tesla/Siemens/Telefunken ??
Thanks

Astra, the Electro Harmonix tubes? They are brand new production, yes? Yes. They're relatively cheap, sound good in the v3 and readily available. Never tried the Tesla myself, I prefer the old Russian 6H23N myself. Sovtek
