Hi, I wanted to share the following. Today I received a set of Philips Bugle Boys. These are NOS tubes made in the Amperex tube factory. After a few hours of warming up my experience is that they sound less harsh and with a better 3D image than the standard Philips ECG tubes. They make my Grado RS-2 a much better match with my X-Can V3. Imagine what would happen when I receive my Little Pinky Does anybody else also have experience with the Bugle Boys? Thanks, Gerald

I have tried them, & yes they are better than the stock tubes. The Dutch made tubes are good, but the white label American made Bugle Boys are the best out of the two. They have a much more rich midrange.
Considering you have a V3 & the Grado's I'd recommend you try the gold pin Siemens 6922. The ones made in the mid 70's are my all time favorites. Super detail, sparkling highs, & correct bass. These tube do everything correctly I have some mid 60's CCa's that I put in from time to time, but they are like fine wine.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will definitely try to find some gold pin Siemens. I think it is nice to play a little bit with different type of tubes. I am also considering trying these tubes in my Bluenote Koala Tube CD player.

I use Amperex 6DJ8 Bugle boys in my X-pre, X-cans & X10-D. I haven't experimented with other tubes. If there are any suggesions of a better tube please pass on the info.
