x cans loopthrough

Hello,
When i use the X cans connected directly to the cd player and loop it through to the Hi fi it is a great sound but if i disconnect the output interconnect from the Xcans i get a tad better sound which i find worth doing i thought the output would not influence the sound but i find it does. I guess theres no way round this is there apart from buying a cd player and only use it purely for the x cans, a little expensive in my case because i own the musical fidelity A5
