The Alps pins are far more spread out than the little stock one, whats the best method for wiring the thing on?
Similar for the Jalco jack socket.
V1 XCans if it matters

The Alps pins are far more spread out than the little stock one, whats the best method for wiring the thing on? Similar for the Jalco jack socket. V1 XCans if it matters The Jalco is dead simple, just desolder the existing head socket and then fit the Jalco and solder. If you got the Jalco from me then the two rear outer pins will have been already snipped off, if you sourced it yourself then just snip the two outer pins to the rear of the head socket off they are not required. The ALPS RK27 is a friggin HUGE pot to fit in the X-CANS, you'd have been better going for the mini ALPS which is a direct drop in replacement for the stock X-CANS pot. With the ALPS RK27 (blue velvet) you will have to drill a hole in the face plate in order to accomodate it inside the amp. Once you have prepared the hole you will fix the pot to the fascia with the retaining nut. You'll have to run hookup wires to the legs on the RK27 pot from the pads where the stock pot is mounted. This is all very easy to do but do you really want to have to go to the bother of drilling a hole in the faceplate? Remember, you will be left with the original hole where the existing pot used to be.... if you're not bothered about aesthetics this is fine.

I'd done the Jalco from the spec sheet, it was the extra 2 rear pins that at a first look are a problem. I bought the big Alps in order to avoid postal fees, now listed on Ebay cgi5.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
