Hey all, I've just got a x can V1 and would like to connect it to my Alienware Aurora M9700 and wondered firstly if this was possible and secondly how do go about it, the laptop has 4 output jacks (three audio out ports, front/ surround & centre) and one headphone jack also can anyone recommend suitable upgrades for the V1, I did look to buy a upgrade kit but can only see kits for the V2 and V3 listed. Thanks in advance.

Hi Lenny, I'm not really up on listening to music with laptop as a source so not the best person to answer your query..... you could try connecting from the "front" output to the input of the V1 but I think the three outputs are probably for hooking up to a dedicated 5.1 system? As Mrarroyo says, a USB DAC would definitely work. As to the V1 kit here it is: www.rock-grotto.co.uk/v1upgradekit.htmlOver and above the cap diode kit I can also supply dip8 sockets / opamps should you wish to replace the stock NE5532. OPA2132P is a very nice sounding opamp in the V1.
