Difference between tube on left and right?

Hi everyone,
I'm referring to the X-Can v3. When I open it up, there's one tube on the left and one on the right (looking from front of amp), as opposed to front-rear arrangement on v1 and v2. What's the difference between the two?
I'm not electronics trained so I don't understand the schematic. Would someone please help to explain?
