I want to add...I just completed the mod for this can last night....Mike said to let the mod kit "burn in" for at least 100 hours before giving it a full audition....
I will tell you....the difference I have noticed in the overall sonic quality thus far...amazing...
I am using my NAD C541i deck right now...and have been playing Genesis-Trick of the tail...and Wind and wuthering CD's....The Beatles-Let It Be Naked and Sgt Pepper.......Frampton Comes Alive Deluxe edition..Golden Earring-Moontan...Midnight Oil-Blue Sky Mine...Yes-Ladder....Little River Band-backstage Pass....
The NAD has a brighter sound than the Denon DCD810...and the MF buffer warms up the sound very nicely...the bass on the NAD is tighter and not as boomy as the Denon 810...but for a 4x oversample....the Denon has a very nice tone...keeping in mind the Denon 810 was a 1991 model.
I also have a Denon DCD 1520...am hving some minor prob with tracking the last track on a longer cd....it kicks back after completion of the cd to maybe 2 minutes into that last track and keeps repeating that endlessly....have spoken with Denons techs and they are clueless. I have tried cleaning the laser and no luck.. If you have any ideas or have ever encountered this same problem...Please e-mail me @ rotosoundz2@yahoo.com I'd appreciate your assistance.
Last note....my hat is off to Mike....his assitance and the creation of the mod kit saved my soul....a really great guy.
