For the X-CAN V1, the only one with OP-AMP. I have done a simple change from the build in Philip NE3352 OPAMP with BurrBrown OPA2134PA with 8 PIN DIP Socket mounted onto the board. The improvement is not huge, but it seems to improve the overall sound a bit.
Just wondering if it worth the effort to replace the cheap 2x BB OPA2134PA with 4x expensive BB OPA627 mounted with a BrownDog Adapter that combine the 2x Single OPA627 to a Dual Socket?
Anyone got experience here?

Hi Hower, There has been some experimentation with Op-Amps and the X-CAN V1 on this site. See: "X-CAN V1 Op-Amps and cap upgrade." If memory serves the stock PHILIPS 5532s were replaced with BURR BROWN 2134s with great results. Fergus

I have plenty of experience with opamps and spent almost a year "rolling" and to be honest with you, you "won't" get a huge difference in sound. the changes are very subtle indeed.
2134 is a good chip, if you want an even warmer sound then opa627 on browndog is the way to go. I'd only go the 627 route if I had them kicking about and wouldn't actually fork out for them as the difference will be slight (but noticeable)
OPA2227 is another good chip as is OPA2107 (2107 is a dual chip very similar to 2 x opa 627 on Bdog) AD 823AN isn't bad in the V1, nice and organic sounding with a bit more clarity than the BB house sound.
I'll have a look through my notes and see if there's any others that'll be compatible.
Mike.
