Great job!!! Is there no end to Mr Michaelson's use of the dreaded Jamicons? I mean, has he shares in that company and so relies on its future success? I opened up the X-DAC V3 and there were swarms of the bastards: 4x2200uF/35v; 12x10uF/50v; 1X47uF/35v; and last but not least, 2x100uF/16v non-polars on the output stage. I've heard that Michaelson's philosophy is that component quality is not important, hence the crappy caps and tubes. What utter rubbish. With a relatively small outlay, the X-CAN (and for that matter the X-10 and the X-DAC), can be been raised from a good piece of equipment to a truly exceptional one. Needless to say, the X-10 will have to be totally re-vamped, along the lines suggested by you. As will the X-DAC. Fergus
