The rating on my "power supply" caps on my X-cans V1 is 35V. Could I get away with 25V rated ones ?
Why ? Well,Panasonic seam to have something of a supply problem with their FC and FM series caps,or at least the size I want. The 16mm dia ones can sort of fit to the upper board, but it don't look pretty ! Really I need 12.5mm dia ones.Panasonic do a 2200uF version of the FC with a dia of 12.5mm (35mm long !) but only rated@25V.Their FC rated @35v and 1200uF is 16mm dia (I already have some FM series fitted, but as I said,it aint pretty). From memory the rating of a cap only needs to be approx 1.5 times that of the voltage it will see, so, 12 ish Volts times 1.5 is well under 25V.
But am I missing somthing here ?
