Where did you get the 6h23n's from ? FWIW, I bought and am now selling my MK1 tube buffer (X-10D).Not least as I have just bought a nu-vista pre amp. I'm not entirely convinced by the tube buffer thing.Perhaps OK if you have a cheaper source that struggles to drive a basic pre-amp input. The V3 version was limited edition (why ?) So you may only be able to buy second hand. That tends to mean ebay and ebay prices ! If I were you, I'd go for the PSU.A lot of dosh for a transformer in a box.At least it can drive a dac if you get one. I too would like to hear my X-Ray hooked up to a dac V3 with teh nu-vista !
