Hi
What are the major differences between the 3 versions of the x-can ?
Is there a significant jump between each version ?
They all seem to use 6922 tubes.

I have the original x-can and am looking to tweak it a bit.

It looks like the caps in the power supply are a combination of 1000 and 470 micro F 's (one is starting to buldge a bit !)
Can these all be replaced with the 1200 micro F Panasonic 's ?
If so,where can I get them, as RS no longer stock.

Thanks other info/tweaks would be appreciated.The alps pot is next on the list to do

I've now managed to look a bit closer at many of the articales on this site regarding mods to the V1 V2 and V3 X-cans.

I think the first mod will be to change the caps in the "power supply" / upper board.So, do i replace them with say the 1200uF 35V Panasonics or like-for like values ? The latest thinking seams to be that the bigger the capacitance the better.

Next will be a new alps pot and then some tubes.
