Boo
Years ago Graham Nalty used to advertise Holco Resistors etc.
Is there any suppliers of these in the UK. It just seems things like Black Gates etc are a pain to source over here. Even a large Hammond case or Vishay resistors Farnell ship from overseas and hence charge 15.95 postage extra!
John
P.S Anyone know what Graham is upto these days?

You will likely have a bit of trouble finding Holco resistors at an AUDIO parts dealer anywhere ,including the UK even though the country of origin with the reason being they are no longer carried as an upgrade part since the move to welded steel ends which changed the sonics of the resistor from its "pre" steel version from warm and smooth though detailed to sharp and detailed.
If you want to give them a crack try a regular generic electronics parts dealer. For instance I can get SOME values in the pre-change version from various audio parts sources dirt cheap here in the sates but each month the values selection gets smaller and smaller as that value is sold out.The NEW version is a standard stock part at Mouser which is my main "anything electronic" arts supply so you maybe have a good shot at one of the larger UK electronics supply houses....

Good question.Holcos were pretty much THE standard upgrade/high end audio resistor at one time then they changed the method of lead connection which changed the sound in a negative way and the once title holder went totally out of contention. I'm thinking the bulk of the business is NOT audio or the loss of income would tell any thinking person the change is not working and it is time to go back to what did.If revenues are still up it means the bulk of the product is targeted elswhere

I was on the phone today ordering some Mills resistors from www.hificollective.co.uk/ and, quite by chance, the guy mentioned they would be getting quite a lot of Holco resistors in shortly..... give them a ring Alan . Mike.

I think if I were UK based the Hi-fi Collective would be my favorite source for upgrade parts.Nice mix of products at good prices

Yes, he sells Black Rhodium cables. I don't think there is any Rhodium in them, but then again there is no rocks in Red Rock beverage

btw ........ appears Graham Nalty is hanging out in the Derwent business centre in Derby www.blackrhodium.co.uk/contact%20us.html Maybe we could hire a mini bus and all go down to see him at Derwent HQ? Something like this would do: We could all wear T-shirts with "team Rhodium" printed on them and we could wear pink hats too....... Let's surprise him shall we? we can turn up unexpected and chant "we want Graham, we want Graham!" in the Derwent business centres car park..... could possibly even choreograph a Rock grotto massive dance. I'm sure Graham would love it.... hell we could take in Graham Slee HQ on the way back too..... could call it the "Graham fest".... who knows it may become an annual pilgrimage ;D
