Funny that. everyone is coming out with either USB Headphone Amps that are no more than putting a simple little PCM27XX USB DAC in front of the headphone amp circuit or hanging a PCM29XX USB CODEC on the output of whatever (phono stage, line stage, mixer) so "YOU TOO can record to the computer like never before" as if recording was never possible before the advent of these "new" gizmos. Gizmos that if done poorly can/will actually perform WORSE than just going from the analog output directly to the sound card line input as has been done forever in the semi-pro arena at the cost of a damn interconnect looks cool as hell though and THAT is what really counts

Really does.Style point Kudos big time. As for integrating the USB CODEC this is also another option for those who MUST www.hagtech.com/ripper.htmlcan also give some insight on a DIY version for those more "gotta have it" types More importantly is the set-up page that is about as good as it gets for the uninitiated www.hagtech.com/setup.htmlpersonally I like my "building blocks" broken down into an individual part so my PCM2907 is in the Deck #3 slot of my dubbing panel so can be used with ANY source flowing out of the master controls panel tape record output jacks OR with a flip of the "Monitor" switch any one of three other record/play devices. The beauty of this set up is I can monitor the process real time (latency issues aside ) using the DAC side of the CODEC chip by using it to the "tape deck IN" of Deck #3. More complicated in the reading than the actual doing since all I am really doing is placing an USB-ADC feed TO the and a USB DAC feed FROM the computer and being a single "box" (CODEC or Sound Card Replacement ) is just using the computer as "DECK #3" where the signal can be manipulated in the digital domain then if need be reconverted to analog for either monitoring or recording to any of the other three recorders

There is still time DC Get a Terratec Phase 26, it has built in phono pre with RIAA eq. Me, I want a USB candle holder instead of one of those geeky snakeneck-led light things. Oh and a USB grill to cook sausages on (computer programmed of course)

Oh and a USB grill to cook sausages on (computer programmed of course) funny that.Have you actually checked out some of the goofy products that are called "USB Enabled" ? Seems anything that can run off the 5VDC buss (or more with a step up DC-DC Converter) has been marketed by one nit wit or another and even worse bigger nit wits are buying this crap or they wouldn't be selling it.My fav is the "USB Flashlight" as if plugging a goofy little lamp into a HUGE laptop is more convenient than a $10 Mini-Mag and a pair of AA batteries. we are raising a generation of retards and I fear when they have children taking a crap unassisted will need an instruction manual next to the toilet..........of course it must be a "SPEAKING" manual 'cause I doubt anyone will know how to read by then
