green Reflex MM & Goldring G1042 ordered now.

I wait for it .....

Last days I connect my Solo + K701 on output of my Yamaha CR2040 and use only the phono preamp - then I start my B790 (with the old Ortofon MC10 MKII) and hear some from

Goldring G1024 is mounted and wait for Reflex MM

My first test with the old Yamaha CR 2040 - more detailed, brighter ..

..... but I must adjust the right playing wight - today about ~ 17 mN - suggested 1.5 - 2 g (1.75 nom) .. .. I have only a primitive beam balance from Revox .......

Great! AFAIK, this cart needs lots of run in time before sounding it's best. Let us know later how it fares. Thanks.

Next days I get my Reflex - so I must wait twice

But during burn-in I will hear my LP's

Reflex - I will turn on the power and let it without signal, for format the caps it should be indifferent.

Fritz .. it doesn't need a signal ... but it does need to be connected to a source apparently.

For the record (pun intended) .. it took a long time for the thing to settle. At least 500 hours.

Worth reading this thread on what changes you can expect .. I read it and was amazed how close it was to my own expereince

Although not heard the 2000 series myself the general consensus of some of the reviews I have seen that it has a bit of an unruly top end as per a lot of the newer MM cartridges. The 1042 is for the most part a nice smooth cartridge.

I had the Reson Reca version of this cartridge which have me a lot of enjoyment.
