There is one of these up for sale on ebay (not sure i want to tell you all that but hey!) I don't know anything about them, so was just looking for some quick advice. Are they good? And how much are they worth second hand?

Yes I've got a Dacmagic 2 - see this link for a full model history:- www.gbaudio.co.uk/data/dac2.htmI have been very pleased with mine provides loads of detail but can be a little bright sounding. I cure the brightness by putting mine through an x10d - the combination sounds good IMO. The DAC was designed by John Westlake ex-Pink Triangle and Hi-Fi World described it as the Audiophile bargain of the Century recently. A Dacmagic has got to be worth at least £70 of anyones money. By the way is the eBay one - the one I can see with a 2 MK II Model sticker on the back - if so then this is very good news! |
