For anyone who knows of the almost legendary AKSA amplifiers designed by Hugh Dean from Oz. The following may be of interest.
Hugh stated today, that he uses differential pair transistors matched for HFE, to better than 2% In the 100W amplifier PSU, Hugh uses Nichicon Gold Tunes Capacitors. The power supply diodes are ultrafast, soft recovery types. Just thought someone might like to know.

;D Mine uses Samwha for audio series caps, MBR10100 schottkies matched 2SA970's for the differential pair
The 4-pole T-network capacitors are still my favourites but they are being used in the UCD's with MBR20200 schottkies

Yes, I would prefer them too. But the originals are far better than average for a kit amplifier. The use of matched 2SA970s is a far better choice IMHO, than the higher noise figure,and lower HFE 2N5401 devices. SandyK

Yet theres some pricey parts in the Aksa like BG caps,mica's, Multicap RTX's
