Mike,
It’s well known that Musical Fidelity originally planned to make the X-cans with nuvistor valves, but decided that it would be too expensive.
So… I have a spare V2 and some spare nuvistor valves… my question is; is it possible to convert a standard v2 into a nuvistor headphone amp??? And if so, what would need to be done?
I saw on these boards photos of an open X-P100, they appeared to use the same circuit board as the nuvistor but shoved some transistors in the place of the valves… which got me thinking about my conversion idea.
What do you think?
