Hi Rock Grotto
Im having trouble with Noise / interference // ? Iv got a Musical Fidelity XLPS Preamp and a Little Pinkie v3i psu all going through a new Marantz amp. When i turn up the Volume im getting the noise / Vibrating hum iv isolated all the inputs and its only when these two are connected i get the sound Is there any fixes or upgrades i can get to sort this out ? I thought it might be a grounding problem but with added grounding it just seems to make things worse. Also this is not when the turntable is added to the mix Any help or suggestions would be amazing Thanks Graydad49

Has it always been the sound and then got worse. If so it could be a problem with either bit of kit.
It may still be a grounding problem if you are using different 13 amp sockets - that is if the devices are fed off different sockets. The first thing to try try is to plug the Marantz amp and Pinkie into the same socket - probably best to use a two into one block (the sort you get from Morrisons etc), plug them both into that and then a socket, and see if that sorts it initially.
Mike will be able to comment but I have no doubt the Pinkie will include caps to minimize any mains hum. Without knowing what grounding you are using it is difficult to say why it would make the problem worse.
Finally, the units must be grounded. If essential for safety.

Hi Freddy Thanks for the advice. Iv got them all plug'ed into a Tacima mains power conditioner which all lead to the same plug so i don't think it's that, unless it's got a bad connection somewhere ? Which i will be checking thanks. Iv also added some RF Ferrite choke's to the power cables which did nothing I think im going to have to dig deeper. Cheers Freddy
