Hi everyone, I was looking for some help with this. My Superlux cable gave way about 11 months in. Checked with the store for warranty they said it doesn't cover cable defects. I found that a little odd because while the outer rubber is torn, the inside rubber was still in tact and he said it is the inside cable that might be damaged. Anyway, the two solutions was paying 50 bucks (headphones cost 150) for the current cable to be fused inside so that there's no detachable thing or buy a new headset. There don't seem to have a variety of demos for sets that cost below 200 and I absolutely love my Superlux but I'm not going to spend another 150 for it to just wear out before a year again. Which brings me to my question. Is there any guides on fixing it myself? Is it hard? I have no know-how in regards to DIY stuff so consider me a 5 year old that's looking at a scissors going "oh it cuts things! Yay!".

Hi, I would email the manufacturers and express you disappointment in the quality of their product and the meanest of the grt. Here in the UK we have a law thar say things must be of merchantable quality and last a reasonable time so you would be covered under the sale of goods act. Maybe you have something similar in your country. Otherwise publish it on all the headphone sites on the net and Facebook to see if you get a response from the makers or sellers. Good luck

I totally agree with Martin.... 11 months is just not acceptable. That's a crappy weak point on the cable entry, that should be re-inforced. Get back in touch with them and INSIST that you want them to remedy the situation.
Best regards,
Mike.

pingu @pinkfloyd That's a great idea. I've never actually gone straight to the manufacturer before. How do you suppose I do that? I quick Google check shows they only have a FB page from my country not a local website/email. Thanks. P.S. I can't tag PinkFloyd. It reverts to small caps.

Thanks Martin.
That very short length of cable sticking out of the headphones is a daft idea anyway, it puts way too much stress on the cable which is why it has broken open. That's a definite manufacturing defect IMO.
