X10-D loose RCA connectors? Purchased my second x10D (cylinder) for purpose to apply the upgrade kit. But noticed the RCA connectors on the back produce static and unlevel sound when slightly touched. The soldering still seems secure on the board, but does the whole RCA module need to be replaced?

They may "seem" OK to the naked eye (the solder joints) but they are prone to hairline cracks..... desolder all of the pads and reflow some fresh solder in that will definitely sort it. Have a look at the pads under a magnifying glass or jewellers loupe..... I bet you a pork pie you will see a hairline crack on one of the solder joints Mike.

If it does turn out to be the phono socket, don't worry, I have 500 of them in stock and they are cheap to replace Mike.

Building up the courage to so the Upgrade Kit next Many thanks, Let me know how it goes Alfred...... just flood in some fresh solder into the solder pads...... go in with a hot iron, when the solder melts just flood in a couple of mm of fresh solder (60/40 is best)...... spend about 3 seconds on each pad with a 450C tip temperature...... piece of cake mate The phono socket pads are quite robust and don't lift easily, my advice is to go in HOT and FAST..... the second the solder "pools" get your iron out of Dodge. Mike.
