Greetings Mike,
I've had a quick search of this forum (and the interwebs) but can't find any detailed and/or accurate info on V3 specs.
The "manual" is a joke - my favourite being "Output power: Typically 1Watt"! Since you've pulled plenty of these apart, perhaps you could shed some light?
What kind of power does this thing have in stock form? Can I drive my LCD2's with it is what I need to know. I don't think so... OutputZ very relevant here as well as output into 70 ohms. Efficiency is 101dB @ 1mW
Still considering ordering an upgrade kit - don't even own a soldering iron any longer...
Cheers from an arid Cape Town.

Likewise I'm interested. I'm using LCD2's with an X-Can V3 with the full mods and Little Pinkie psu.
I have nothing to compare with it though. However, for what it's worth, I did a-b a Sennheiser HD600 (300 ohms) with a modded and unmodded V3. The modded version didn't go so very louder but the quality was a big difference such that I could physically bear to turn it up to a desired sound pressure level.
I would like to know whether a gruntier amp would make a difference. Audeze recommend amps between 1-4 watts but I won't buy a more powerful amp just on the off chance of an improvement eg Burson Soloist and Audeze Deckard have similar footprints, are much more powerful, but are they better for the LCD2 on this basis?
Hopefully Mike can weigh in- I have little or no clue on the technical side
