Stock x-psu making humming sound

My stock x-psu is making a humming sound. It's from the transformer of course because there is nothing else in there.
Is the transformer beyond expiration date of else?
I could consider a Mike Pinkie but I am not going to compromise the estatics of the stack of x-ponents. And I would need 8 pinkies to power all my little x-ponents.
