Hi Mark, Lovely neat job, well done. The amp will sound crappy if your valves are knackered, it sounds like they are! 6H23N-EB are gorgeous sounding valves, shitloads better than Philips 6922, so I can only assume the pair you had fitted were way out of spec. That blue LED looks like it would burn your retina at 100 yards so replace the stock 330R resistor with a 5K type, that will tone it down to a nice, soothing, subtle glow..... the resistor in question is R6...... remove it and fit a 5K resistor in its place..... the result will be a nice warm, subtle glow. A lot nicer than the search and rescue "thang" you've got going on at the moment Hosted on FotkiA 5K resistor costs about ten a penny... they are as cheap as a tenth of a penny chew......
