I bought this July last year and had it serviced by an ex Leica technician (£185 for a full service) It is a 1956 DS (dual stroke) Leica M3, this is regarded as the best 35mm camera ever made by anyone(including Leica) Update Looks like i cant put pics on here because the forum has exceeded it,s attachment limit Paddy

And yes, the M3!!! I dont know how to post a link as text, how do you do that The M3 is a work of art engineering wise, no electronics to go wrong, German engineering at it,s best www.kenrockwell.com/leica/m3.htmI have a 1959 35mm/f2.8 Leica summaron wide angle with specs as well thats been checked and given the thumbs up www.kenrockwell.com/leica/35mm-f28.htmThese were made in Leica,s heyday when Leica was Leica I used to have a contax G2 with zeiss lens that was great but this thing is built like a brick that will last forever, i prefer solid metal mechanical cameras I still have my Nikon FM2,Nikon FM3A and Nikon prime lenses for back up I have a roll of black and white slide film in the M3 at the moment, There was a firm called DR5 in Denver CO that used to turn any black and white film in to slides, they have just been resurected and have moved to Iowa so will be sending a couple of reels there even though the postage is expensive to the UK www.dr5.com/Been a customer there for over 10 years, slides look great in black and white After that it,s good old kodak tri x/ kodak D76 in the darkroom Paddy

Nice one Paddy, look forward to seeing some pics. I just use flickr for uploading my pics, I go on share photo , click on BBcode and copy then paste the link. You get options for the sizes of the pic, I usually use medium
