X Can V2 LED lit, but not tubes

To keep a long story simple, the new distributors of Musical Fidelity sent me a replacement V2 board - really everything but the can and power
supply. Plugged it into a power supply and voila, it worked just fine.
Come today I plugged it in again to give it a listen, everything fine, and then nothing. The LED is lit, but the tubes are not. Could have been
static(the unit is not yet in a can), but obviously some thing died. By the way, there was no noise, pop, fire, nor that smell of electronic death.
I'm going to run this by a friend who has better diagnostic qualifications than I do, but I thought someone here might have an idea what
part might have given way.
