Hi, Any any info on the MF x lp please. How does it stack up against the JLH phono amp which I like. Are there any up grades for the MF amp worth going for, valves or PSU Spring to mind ? Any opinions gratefully received Thanks

Any opinions gratefully received Thanks I don't own a turntable so can't really comment. I've supplied a few Pinkies to guys who own one and they have reported great things but I have zero "sonic" experience with the X-LPS. I'll dig through my e-mails and see if I can get you a few names Pingu, the guys who own the XLPS. Mike.

I owned an xlps a few years ago It sounds better when you upgrade the caps and everything, Mike supplied me with a kit similar to the one you get for the MF Xcan It opened the treble up and seemed to show more detail in the mids from what i remember,it also sounded similar to a tricord dino after the kit was installed in the xlps Paddy

Hi. Chris from California here. At this very moment I am listening to an LP I just received today. It is TOTO 25th Anniversary Live In Amsterdam. It is close to the last performance of the band with bass player Mike Porcaro who was suffering from ALS and died later. They had already lost drummer Jeff Porcaro-Mike's brother-to cocaine related illness. But I digress. I am listening through a stock Technics SL1200MK5 throught a Musical Fidelity X-LPS through a Grotto upgraded(thanks Mike) X-Can V2 through HiFiManHE400S. I have a just purchased Nagaoka MP-300. Wow. The result is brilliant! A coming together of many companies and engineers to produce a smile on my face. The X-LPS and X-CANS V2 are both powered by an X-PSU. I may have to hit Mike up for a cap upgrade for the X-LPS. But for the immediate future I am more than satisfied with what I am hearing from this setup. Happy Holidays from across the pond.

Hi Chris, Nice to hear that, still in two minds about the MF. I'm using a JLH phono at the moment through eithe the JLH Chiara or the MF V2 with Mikes mods and advice. Mike may take a few days to reply as he has some coms probs ATM, but he will get back to you. All the best Martin
