Very interesting and thanks for sharing. I'd like a decent small compact for the pocket , for BIF I use DSLR with long lenses but for everything else this looks ideal

Very interesting and thanks for sharing. I'd like a decent small compact for the pocket , for BIF I use DSLR with long lenses but for everything else this looks ideal I donated my Pana ZS50/TZ60 to a photo club, not because it wasn't awesome. I'd suggest people interested in the ZS/TZ-100 to look at the ZS50/TZ60 for the long equiv. zoom of 720 mm, and despite the 1/2.3 sensor, an excellent lens and reasonable density at 12 mp on that sensor. I see the ZS100 as a logical alternative, having a 4x larger sensor and 3x shorter maximum zoom. The bad news is the ZS50 is or was $400 USD while the ZS100 is $700 USD. And I believe the ZS50 I had had a better lens, although it's gone now so I can't compare directly. Thanks again, will certainly have a look into them. I found my old DMC-LX3 out the other day , the missus mainly uses it so I've been looking for a good compact so we got something each to use when out and about

I took quite a few photos indoors in churches and photo events, usually at ISO 800 and 1/8 second or so using a monopod, and was quite happy with the results. The missus usually takes it to work (she works at school teaching ) so it comes in handy if they take the kids out on school trips etc , she just sticks it in her bag. Must show her how to use it in manual rather than relying on auto
