Found these on ebay today. Seller says he still has the ally fronts as well, they look surprisingly good and it seems like a decent job was done of it. linkypoo

Very nice Chris and certainly worth £150 each. It would be a good idea to stick some copper tape on the backside of the front panels just to ensure that the enclosure remains fully shielded. The white LEDS look a bit retina burning but that's easily cured by replacing the 330R resistor before the lED with a 5K one.... that will tone them down to a nice glow instead of a laser beam The X-PSU has no internal fuse (just the thermal fuse built into the transformer) so I would definitely fit a user replaceable fuse inside it. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who have got in touch over the years asking me how they replace the fuse..... erm, when I tell them there ISN'T a user replaceable fuse in the X-PSU and inform them that the internal 125C thermal fuse in the transformer will have popped they get quite a shock..... the fix?, send back to MF to get a new transformer fitted and expect to pay more than you paid for the entire unit for the pleasure. I'm actually chuffed when I get e-mails from people saying "Pinkie has blown a fuse" and then going on to say "I replaced the fuse but it blew again"...... I always reply with "excellent, it's doing it's job!" and go onto explain that the fault isn't with the Pinkie, it's caused by a short in the amp / buffer etc. that the Pinkie is powering. The MF way is to let the transformer go into total meltdown and then charge a fortune to fit a new transformer..... at no time do they suggest the fault was caused by a short in the unit the PSU was powering..... think about it Anyhoo, yes, superb job on the woodwork. Mike.
